The latest Computer Arts Society exhibition How Quantel's Paintbox Changed Our World, curated by Adrian Wilson, has opened at Phoenix Cinema and Arts Centre, Leicester. The exhibition features 20 works created on the pioneering image manipulation system. Including work by artists such as Keith Haring, David Hockney and Richard Hamilton, it is the first time many of the images have been shown in public. To accompany the exhibition we have published an exhibition catalogue. A copy can be downloaded for free as a PDF, with a limited number of printed copies and a limited exhibition print available from the new Computer Arts Archive Shop.
How Quantel's Paintbox Changed Our World will be in Leicester until the end of June 2023. It will then be shown at the BCS Office in Moorgate, London from December 2023 for three months. After this, we would like to show the exhibition elsewhere.
The curator of the exhibition, Adrian Wilson, and the designer of the catalogue, Kim Mannes-Abbott - both Paintbox artists - will be speaking in Leicester on the 25th May at Phoenix. Places can be booked via the Phoenix website. The talk will also be streamed on the Computer Arts Society YouTube Channel.
